I don't believe in telling my story. My work speaks more about me than my story does. I'd rather be judged on what I build than on how well I narrate it.
There's a difference between a real builder and a problem solver, and someone who's just a sugarcoater — a pretender. I do this mostly solo. I know one very intelligent, smart guy who's worked with me, is currently working with me, and will probably work with me again in the future. If that ever stops, it won't be anyone's fault. I just sometimes get too attached to my own product and my own process — I know that about myself — and at the same time, I understand other people have their own priorities too. Both of those things are true at once.
I don't believe in the downfall-and-comeback story. Not the "fresh start" narrative, not the arc where you fall, then rise, then get to call it a comeback. I don't think in those terms.
I believe people exist until they exist. Every door that opens closes a million possibilities, and opens a million more, at the same time. It's just a point of view. This file might open something great in someone's life — a whole new chapter. That's not a guarantee. It's just what I believe is possible.
I am Shivam. Not a loser. Not a winner. The builder — who tried, who is trying, will or won't — it's just a matter of time.
